This is what nailed me to the wall - my kids. I kept imagining something happening to one of my kids, and them looking at me with those eyes: "momma, why didn't you fight harder?"
I was talking to a friend about this, the whole "how do you go on" thing - I was getting the question. I realized as I answered that I am not living this experience for quantifiable growth I will benefit from - I am setting up the kids, laying a foundation for their lives.
In the exact same way my momma did for me as a student at Little Rock Central High.
And my gramma before, as vice president of the NAACP.
And on and on. Helps to keep my locked and loaded on the real value here.
