Sooooo, this is like day four for me on Medium. I know how NOTHING works. Thus the odds are good this answer won't make it to you.

I was being cheeky, which I often fall back to normally as a precursor to sarcasm. I'm working on that.

Also, thumbs up - I now appreciate that you were giving mad shade. Nice.

Do I think there will never be a post-racial democracy? Nope - er, I disagree with the greatest Pres in the whole wide world (in case he's reading this). I don't actually believe in altruism, so my departure isn't b/c I think people will grow and become more racially inclusive.

I disagree b/c in a few more generations down the road, assuming climate change has not killed all living things, we'll be identifying our race in much the same way Lord Marbury does - "I am John, Lord Marbury, Earl of Croy, Marquess of Needham and Dolby, Baronet of Brycey, England's ambassador to the United States."

Amalgamation will make it virtually impossible to the a racist rock and not hit a first cousin - "I identify as black, but my father was Crow and Irish, and my mother was South African and German, but then HER father . . ."

So, nope. Don't agree. And guess who agrees with ME - Lincoln. If you haven't read his reply to the Dred Scott opinion, consider it. It's a humdinger for sure.
