NTS -

Person X asked me garden variety "can you explain what Blacks mean when . . . "

ME: Mmmm, I have to check last quarter's meeting notes. I think we discussed that but I can't quite recall now.

X: Meeting?

ME: Yeah. The Black Federation. We meet a few times a year.

X: Oh wow.

<weeks later>

X: That Black meeting thing? That wasn't real right?

ME: Nope.

X: Uh oh. LOL. OK, if I do something like that again can you XYZ?

ME: LOL. MMMmmm, let's try this - before you ask, maybe check with the person to see if this is something they are comfortable being asked about.

X shifted burden to me - next time can you . . . I shifted burden back - let's get you to try this instead.
