Meh — we’ll be fine as long as we don’t preach unless we practice. I’m not real big on “let’s be bigger people and sit down and figure this out,” if for no other reason than life doesn’t work that way. You put five people in a room, you’ll get five sets of one person who is 100% sure the other four are wrong about everything. Truth is — and I know this sounds uber-hokey — everything we need to know we really did learn in kindergarten. We expect that of ourselves, we’ll do ok.

As an aside, two things. One, I’m totally cool with the thanks. But I’m not so sure about you. Remember, you don’t have a photo avatar. As far as you knew, I’d have never known you were White if you hadn’t pointed out right out of the gate. I’m curious as to why you did. No worries if you don’t want to say. I guess what I’m trying to say here is that I one have one set of rules and they don’t vary according to the race of the person engaging me.
Next, don’t tell me what I think, ok? It’s all good. I’d just rather you talk about what you think and want, I talk about what I think and want. Fair, right? Anyway, once you connect the dots, you’ll realize I have no problem at all saying what I’m thinking, despite the fact that many, many people would prefer I didn’t.
