I’ve never felt this — I was waaaaay to arrogant — but I was aware of it from a very young age and it pissed me off even then. BIGLY.
I’ll tell you what I HAVE experienced — boastful blackness. My skin feels like such a GIFT, and more so with each passing day. A gift for is physiological boondoggles, yet. I am largely speaking metaphorically, though. The culture. The toughness. The pride. The unapologetic me. The brilliant and strong and sardonic Black fam. THAT’s new and that is AMAZING.
