"He-who-shall-not-be-named" is right. "We" is not. And therein lies the problem.

There is an old joke about Lone Ranger and Tonto. You may have heard it? Goes something like:

The Lone Ranger and Tonto are passing the evening with a small band of Crow, when the Lone Ranger goes to see a man about a dog. He’s gone for only a minute when he rushes back to camp, howling about his family jewels. “I’ve been rattler bit! Tell the Medicine Man! Quick!” Tonto does, then he and the Medicine Man discuss in Siouan Lone Ranger’s fate. “To save him, you must cut the bite and suck out the poison,” the Medicine Man says. Lone Ranger, who does not speak Siouan, turns to Tonto. “What did he say?” Tonto looks at him for quite some time before replying, “the Medicine Man said you’re gonna die, Kemo Sabe.”

Yeah, I don't know who "we" is, but it would be in WA's own interest to focus up and dig in.

We approach racism like a Black problem Whites help it. That is grossly incorrect in ways I hope to help make clear. Short version: we did not edge you out; y'all ran out, & seem all but driven towards obsolescence. Maintain this pace and all anyone will have to do is wait you out, should they be so inclined.

White America will suss it out about a day too late to make a difference. No one wants that. First step to pump the brakes, though, means stop pretending such a thing is impossible.
