At the risk of sounding patronizing, may I please say that I walked away from your engagement buoyed?

I can't tell you how much it matters - it's almost impossible to explain. This is the hardest thing I've done in the public eye for some time.

It is degrading/demeaning to say to a person "yeah, this thing you do here isn't working for me" and then have them think they actually have the right to say "I'll take that under advisement."

It has happens often, and its pretty galling. What must one believe about him/herself in general, and in relation to me specifically, to see that as not just right but a duty?

I have to say, it comes across as if they believe on some level that they own me. And that I cannot co-exist with.

So thank you - through you I am reminded of how broad and real human decency is, and can be.
