And while that's kind of you - if you have ever been in recovery (I have not, but worked in the field) - you know that the best person to help an active addict is a recovering one. Race abuse is not my addiction.

That's not to say I walk away. I won't, not b/c I can't, but b/c I don't want to. But I think we have been doing it wrong (like with policing) and me "curing" you is just doing more of the same. I think it's time I develop the program but remove myself from the treatment room. I'll still be there, but there to help us try to achieve the same unified goal in a very different way.

I can't say whether race abuse was ever your addiction, but I CAN say you have a level of empathy and insight that makes you the FAR better person in the room.

I'l just be outside waiting for you, so we can go talk s*** about everybody during lunch.
