When Our National Approach to Henhouse Safety Is “Trust the Fox.”

It is time for the President to stop using ‘White Supremacy’ as if it is something more than the racism we face on a daily basis.

During his first joint address to Congress Wednesday night, :

“We have to remain vigilant against the threats to the United States wherever they come from. . . . And we won’t ignore what our intelligence agencies have determined to be the most lethal terrorist threat to the homeland today: White Supremacy is terrorism.”

The President wasn’t…

Part I of TNSWA series. Racism is not mine, it’s yours, and it’s not called “help” when it’s your mess we’re cleaning.

I never use the term “White Ally” when I talk with family and friends. That’s because I detest it. A little twang of dissonance echoes every time it comes my way. My rage is not directed at the name, but its attending mentality. And the sobriquet itself implicates one of the most insidious sleights-of-hand in mankind’s history.

The logic behind the expression “White Ally” makes about as much sense as me going…

Let’s dispense with theory and cut to the truth — it is not “police can’t,” it is “their supervisors refuse.”

Mr. George Floyd’s tragic death was not due to a lack of training — the training was there.” ~Testimony of Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arrandondo.

Pam is a perfect example of why armchair PhDs can be fatal.

I read an exchange between my sister and her friends about the wisdom of hosting or attending potential COVID superspreader events. Take your pick: this Sunday’s , last weekend, yesterday’s , last month’s . There are plenty to choose from, and they span the nation’s political, ideological, and race spectrums.

One friend — let’s call her Pam — was all-in for living our best lives. We should vax, we can wear masks if we want, and YOLO so lemme…

The Breonna Taylor raid team should have worn department-issued , but did not. Now, Taylor is dead, and the “neutral” record of her killing comes from seven men risking prison if that killing was against the law.

Supervisors knew or should have known of the loss of a key accountability tool and ignored it. That failure travelled through no fewer than seven firewalls of oversight to reach Springfield Drive. The lost opportunities for oversight were, themselves, telling.

“Good” police chiefs are *really* working me.

“If there were one solitary voice, it would have intervened and acted.” ~Minneapolis Police Chief (“MPD”) Medaria Arradondo. He is discussing the heartbreak that George stood alone, as if Derek Chauvin was bad apple unknown.

I mean, sure, I get where you’re going with this: the Chauvin’s of the world have latent spoliation but gleam bright and green on the outside. But, ummm, this isn’t Krogers, dude. On top of that, you have a katrillion apple watchers: if the apple gets past them, ?

“The kicker here is…

That they will never answer questions about racism works since I never bring the subject up. Don't have to - I'm not trying to cure racism. Nor need I, to end disparate policing.

When you fire sergeants and lieutenants and captains and majors and deputies and chiefs for failing to police equally, do you care WHY they do or WHAT they do? It's not that hard to solve MY problem - disparate policing. It's up to them to solve their own - racist thinking.

Remember, you want a culture change in policing, you go after the culture MAKERS. …

An ongoing list of a diminished brand of Americanism.

Let me introduce you to my media feed, from March 19, 2021 to date. It is a daily reminder of how many police view the people under non-White skin.

I’ll update this list while I write and promote the .

Chauvin is the manifestation of a problem WE CAN FIX. Bump fists and keep it moving.

, Fox9, April 20, 2021.

Derek Chauvin is not the problem. Derek Chauvin is how the problem presents.

I celebrate that Chauvin got his just due. But what mutes my celebration is the knowing what we will do with that as a nation: see convicting the manifestation (Chauvin) of the problem as evidence we have made progress on the problem (American policing). …
