I keep waiting for someone to raise sex abuse as a different kind of horror that's potentially diminished by using it as a comparison here. Grief Olympics - something like that. No one has said this - I think weighing in on another's grief might be too taboo to even try. But I HAVE had that conversation with myself.

I've had both experiences. I would agree they are different but disagree invoke the parallels is inapt. Still, I wonder if there are positions around this I have not considered.
